I didn’t like ESO much when I first picked up the game. I was looking for an MMO to connect with a community and to other players, but the more I played ESO the more I felt frustrated by the game. The character builds I made at the time felt WEAK. I did very little damage, my resources quickly drained, leaving me with nothing else to do but DIE on the battlefield. Learning ESO as a new player back then was not a fun experience!

Ultimately I stopped playing the game after just a few months. The Elder Scrolls Online advertises itself as a game where you can play as you want, but the problem is it never TEACHES you how! This is where I got stuck and if you're reading this you may be stuck there too!

Luckily, I eventually connected with a few experienced players who began teaching me the basics of ESO: which weapons and armor types were best, which skills or passives to unlock first, and so on. I also began reading guides on the internet and watching video tutorials. Finally, after hundreds of hours of research and my own play testing ESO eventually started to click for me. After much trial and error I established my own playstyle and the ability to create ANY type of build I wanted!

This is when my REAL adventures in ESO truly began! I started recording MY builds so others could benefit and I created the Hack The Minotaur YouTube channel. After so many months of limitations and frustration with ESO I finally began enjoying the game I had spent so much time playing. With the basic knowledge found in this guide, you can start enjoying it too!
